In 1992 we moved from Amsterdam to Grosseto and we instantly fell in love with the Maremma. We dreamt about buying a house big enough to host our relatives, our friends, but also our beloved horse Miami and our cats Trouble and Assuntina. The antique former horse stables, once belonged to the Italian Cavalry, caught immediately our attention due to its particular architecture and ideal geographic position close to the beach but in the middle of the calm countryside between Grosseto and Castiglione della Pescaia. The cost of the property, however, was far beyond our possibilities. Thanks to the outstanding collaboration and efforts of our families, in 1999, we were able to realize our dream.
