Holiday apartments and cottages
The country apartments and cottages of “Il Granaio” are situated between Grosseto, Marina di Grosseto and Castiglione della Pescaia, Southern Tuscany, approximately 6 km. away from the beach and the pinewoods. The building was set up around 1900 by the Italian Cavalry and served originally as a horse stable with adjacent hay shed.
In 1999, the stable was restored and transformed into spacious rural cottages, without changing the original characteristics like the wide arches in the lofts, the ancient brick walls and the typical French window, which recall the original purpose of the building.
In 2003 the restoration was completed; the hay shed has been entirely rebuilt, creating comfortable apartments according the tuscan tradition using traditional materials such as “cotto” floor, travertine final touches, brick arches and walls and wooden beams and ceilings.
